like below fixes the issue The commented answer above was the clue I needed, but it needs a couple tweaks (at least as of the version I'm using: v3.1.5). The link has all the info, but the answer should be as follows

To fix the issue you can do since Cypress is yielding jquery instances, you'll need to unwrap it first to access a native dom element property:

Hope that helps I noticed that earlier today as well.
Maybe the direct download OS version checker isn't working correctly? Dunno.

wish help you to fix your issue I guess you need to enter npx cypress open if you are running for first time. once the project is created then you can use npx cypress run
