like below fixes the issue I am trying to allow an input that is only made with characters a-zA-Z and also haves space. Example: "Chuck Norris". What happens with the code below is that the scanner input.next() doesn't allow the mentioned example input string. , String t = "Chuck Norris";
t.matches("[a-zA-Z ]+")

should help you out When you lifted that code from here :-), you renamed the class but not the constructor. Only constructors are allowed to not have return types.
I suggest you either rename the class back or rename the constructor.

Hope this helps
The delimiter includes meta-characters, and I'm trying to split ONLY where it appears, so regex is not suitable.

I wish did fix the issue. That's because you call sc.nextLine() twice inside your loop.
You should call it only once per line:
code :
String nextLine = sc.nextLine();
String s = removeNumbers(nextLine);
if("".equals(nextLine)) {
    break;
}

this one helps. Let's say I am trying to add to a grocery list, and the following is what would be my single line input: (add Apple, Fruit, 10, 5.67). How would I parse the values from the Scanner to separate the list and have it stop reading values after I hit enter? , Consider reading the whole line then using String.split as in
code :
    Scanner input = new Scanner(System.in);

    while (input.hasNextLine()) {

        String str = input.nextLine();  // Apple, Fruit, 10, 5.67

        String arr[] = str.split (", ");

        for (String s : arr) {
            System.out.println(s);
        }
    }
Apple
Fruit
10
5.67
