fixed the issue. Will look into that further I have a File and I want to get the Directory , The query
code :
 Query query = new Query();
query.addCriteria(
        new Criteria().andOperator(

        Criteria.where("listOfFiles.$id").is(new ObjectId(file.getId()))
        )

);

return  mongoTemplate.findOne(query,Directory.class);

Java Singly Linked Integer List, write function thats returns a reference to element with index I in the list

Hope this helps I have been trying to write a Java function IntList get(int i) that is supposed to return a reference to the i-th element in a singly linked integer list. My problem is that the function returns null, even if I try to reference an existing element! , This one works without checking for IndexOutOfBoundsException:
code :
public IntList get(int i) {
    IntList current = this;

    for(int k = 0 ; k < i - 1 ; k ++) {

        if(current.next != null) {
            current = current.next;
        }

    }
    return current;

}

this one helps. I'm currently using mongoose schemas where some of the values hold lists. For example: , Do a find with $in clause :
code :
dinerModel.find({
    'restaurants': { $in: [
        'Sonic',
        'Taco Bell',
        'Burger King'
    ]}
}, function(err, docs){
    if (err) {
        console.log(err); // deal somehow
        return;
    }
    console.log(docs);
    }
});
Elements getting added to original List even if the new element is aded to other reference of LIst

Elements getting added to original List even if the new element is aded to other reference of LIst

will be helpful for those in need I am adding few elements to the original list and passing its reference to a new method. Inside the called method, I am again adding some more elements to the new reference of List and not returning the new reference of list to caller method. But, still the elements are getting added to original List. Can some one please explain how it is happening internally. How the changes in new list is getting reflected in original list? , The explanation is as follow:
code :
public class ListAddTest {
public static void main(String[] args) {
    List<String> fruitList = new ArrayList<String>();

      fruitList.add("Mango");
      fruitList.add("Banana");
      fruitList.add("Apple");
      System.out.println("Before addFruits :"+fruitList);
      addFruits(fruitList);
      System.out.println("After addFruits :"+fruitList);
}
private static void addFruits(List<String> newfruitsList){
    newfruitsList.add("Papaya");
    newfruitsList.add("Guava");
}
}
public class ListAddTest {
public static void main(String[] args) {
    List<String> fruitList = new ArrayList<String>();
      fruitList.add("Mango");
      fruitList.add("Banana");
      fruitList.add("Apple");
      System.out.println("Before addFruits :"+fruitList);
     List<String> newList= new ArrayList<String>(fruitList);
     addFruits(newList);
     System.out.println("After addFruits :"+fruitList);
     System.out.println("newList:"+newList);
}

private static void addFruits(List<String> newfruitsList){
    newfruitsList.add("Papaya");
    newfruitsList.add("Guava");
}
}

may help you . I'm setting up a two-dimensional matrix that begins with identical lines. When I create a list of lists using a lines=n*[list(string)] to create n lists of identical character lists, it seems to work. But when I try to assign a specific value to an element in a row, it is copied in all rows. , When you do
code :
lines=11*[list('   |   |   ')]
temp = list('   |   |   ')
lines = 11*[temp]
lines = [list('   |   |   ') for _ in range(11)]

wish helps you You are using an array, so that's why key is 0,1,2... If you want ObjectId to be your key, you have to use an object
code :
db.users.insertOne({
    "_id": new ObjectId(),
    "username": "testusername",
    "books": {
      [new ObjectId()]: { "name": "Test Book" }
    }
})
