I wish this helpful for you Add the attribute pointer-events="none" to the path element that forms the letter.
This will then be ignored for the purposes of mouse over and it will be as if the pointer is still over the polygon.

around this issue Sounds like what you really should do is have two button elements that are styled to look like one.
Something like the jQuery UI Button element split button example.
Jquery make a mouseon / hover event for one element call / simulate a similar even for a different element?

this one helps. I'm using a plugin that is obscure and doesn't have a good API and, rather than digging around and re-writing it the way I want, I want to just use it the way its built which is that it has a list within a DIV and an action occurs based on moving the mouse over a list item in this DIV.. I want to simulate this so that I can make another action in the page do this, however I'm not sure exactly how to do this.. so far I have: , This is what you need:
code :
$('#masker').find('li').slice(0,1).hover(function(){
  //style some element(s) or do stuff.
});

like below fixes the issue You need to add a second class and handle it in the css. You mentioned that you already created a hover class.
I've added a hovered class to your styles. And the style will apply when hovering over the button, or if the hovered class is added to the button.
code :
.btn-danger:hover, .btn-danger.hovered{
     background: rgba(41, 128, 185,1.0);
     border-color: rgba(41, 128, 185,1.0);
}
$( ".tile" ).hover(function() {
    $(this).find('.btn-danger').addClass('hovered');
 }, function() {
    $(this).find('.btn-danger').removeClass('hovered');
 });
.btn-danger:hover, .tile:hover .btn-danger{
     background: rgba(41, 128, 185,1.0);
     border-color: rgba(41, 128, 185,1.0);
}

it should still fix some issue I have some divs that contain images. When hovered over the divs, the images should rotate in order to create an album like effect. , Update your CSS to
code :
#main div:hover img {
  /* styles here */
}
