I wish did fix the issue. I have a class library that holds a "MessageBox" equivalent with a few more bells and whistles. ,
this should default to the currently active monitor
code :
  Screen desktop = Screen.FromPoint(Control.MousePosition);

I wish did fix the issue. Removed a couple of buttons, added a new one: solved.
So I think it should have been a DialogResult somehow, weird stuff.

I wish this helpful for you http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/w61zzfwe.aspx makes it pretty clear that the parameter represents the owner window. And that is the behavior of an owner window - it stays behind its children and doesn't close leaving its children still displayed.

Any of those help Maybe I'm missing something, but why can't you do something like this?
code :
public class MyTestClass_IRDroidUIPlugIn extends Button implements IRDroidInterface{
    Activity mContext;
    public MyTestClass_IRDroidUIPlugIn(Activity context) {
        mContext = context;
        setOnClickListener(new View.OnClickListener() {
            public void onClick(View v) {

seems to work fine Your updated method (GetParentForm) won't work because you're wrapping the task of getting the reference to ParentForm in an InvokeRequired block. You could try wrapping the ShowDialog call in such a block instead, but I think you would still get the cross-threading error.
Your simplest fix would be to move the code that creates and shows the second form out of your class and into ParentForm. So instead of this:
code :
MyForm form = new MyForm();
public void showMyNewForm()
    MyForm form = new MyForm();
