fixed the issue. Will look into that further I'm using the mpl_toolkits to plot surfaces in 3d using Axes3D and plot_surface. , use shade argument:
code :
ax.plot_surface(X, Y, Z, rstride=1, cstride=1,
                facecolors=cm.coolwarm(F), shade=False)

it should still fix some issue I am plotting the following image in matplotlib. My problem is that, the image looks good like this, however, I would like to make the background darker, as when I print this image, the grayscale part does not appear in the print. Could someone tell me API to make this change? , I achieved it by using following code -
code :
ax = fig.add_subplot(111, projection='3d')
plt.gca().patch.set_facecolor('white')
ax.w_xaxis.set_pane_color((0.8, 0.8, 0.8, 1.0))
ax.w_yaxis.set_pane_color((0.8, 0.8, 0.8, 1.0))
ax.w_zaxis.set_pane_color((0.8, 0.8, 0.8, 1.0))

help you fix your problem The reason the "colors are adjusted" is not because the color actually changes, but because the scatter result (which is a PathCollection object) is being viewed through a half-transparent colored rectangle that it is underneath. The same doesn't happen to the result of plot (which is a Line2D object) because it lies above the rectangle.
Matplotlib uses an attribute called zorder when it displays artists in a figure (most everything that lives in a matplotlib plot is an artist). The defaults set the plot's zorder to 2, whereas the rectangle and the scatter both have a zorder of 1, and the rectangle defaults to existing "higher" (not sure exactly why, but it is what it is). You can force the scatter points to lie above the rectangle by specifying the zorder keyword:
code :
 plt.scatter(range(5),5*[2], color="r", label='plt.scatter', zorder=2)
plt.plot(range(5),5*[3],'o', color="r", label="plt.plot", zorder=0)

wish of those help In your plot there are different colors for the error bars and the scatter plot points. You can make them the same like this:
code :
c = next(colors)
ax.errorbar(df2a['x_var_plot'],  df2a[col], color = c, yerr=df2a_err[col], fmt='o')
ax.scatter(df2a['x_var_plot'], df2a[col], color = c, label=col)

I wish this help you You have a line for the plot as well as one for the errorbar. One hides the other.
You may set the linestyle of the errorbar to "None".
code :
import numpy as np
import matplotlib.pyplot as plt

plt.figure()
plt.plot(np.arange(50),label='data')
plt.errorbar(np.arange(50),np.arange(50),yerr=np.arange(50),ls="None",
             label='errors')
plt.legend()

plt.show()

around this issue One workaround is to set the text to transparent and then set text-shadow to the desired print color.
I had success in Firefox 70.0.1 using this solution.
code :
<style>
    .oval {
      position: absolute;
      width: 300px;
      height: 60px;
      top: 45px;
      right: -50px;
      border-radius: 50%;
      color: transparent;
      text-shadow: 0 0 0px #fff;
      text-align: left;
      line-height: 24px;
      opacity: 0.4;
      padding: 15px 15px 15px 50px;
    }
...
</style>
