Return Results of SQLAlchemy Search Query

Return Results of SQLAlchemy Search Query

wish helps you Looping through the result, as you do, is correct. You can also use all() to get the list of sequences (rows). Maybe more efficient is to not store the data in a list, get smaller result sets, and/or do the operation immediately on each row. You could also use a server side cursor if your DBMS supports it.
When only one row with one field is fetched, you can use first() and get the first element of the returned sequence. Code wise, this is probably most efficient:
code :
maxid_mytable = session.query(func.max(mytable.id)).first()[0]

fixed the issue. Will look into that further I have simple documents with a field called "keywords", which is indexed for text search. The keywords are an array of words and short phrases, like this: , This can be achieved with following setup.
code :
POST your_index
{
  "settings": {
    "analysis": {
      "analyzer": {
        "keyword_analyzer": {
          "type": "custom",
          "filter": [
            "lowercase"
          ],
          "tokenizer": "keyword"
        },
        "shingle_analyzer":{
          "type" : "custom",
          "filter" :["lowercase","shingle_filter"],
          "tokenizer" : "standard"
        }
      },
      "filter": {
        "shingle_filter": {
          "type": "shingle",
          "min_shingle_size": 2,
          "max_shingle_size": 5
        }
      }
    }
  },
  "mappings": {
    "your_type": {
      "properties": {
        "keywords": {
          "type": "string",
          "index_analyzer": "keyword_analyzer",
          "search_analyzer": "shingle_analyzer"
        }
      }
    }
  }
}
PUT your_index/your_type/1
{
  "keywords": ["restaurant manager", "chef", "bus boy"]
}
GET your_index/_search
{
  "query": {
    "match": {
      "keywords": "This restaurant manager is also a good chef"
    }
  }
}

it fixes the issue If you are trying to simply return a document based on an orderNo, rather than doing a full text search, I would recommend using the "Lookup" API to do so

this one helps. You cannot get results from executemany, which SQLAlchemy uses underneath if you pass a set of more than 1 row to insert. That's why you observe return_rows=False. A workaround is to "inline" the rows using one multi VALUES clause, instead of using bindparams and executemany:
code :
HOST_INSERT_QUERY = (
    Host.__table__.insert()
        .values(values)
        .returning(Host.__table__.c.id)
)

result = db_conn.execute(HOST_INSERT_QUERY)
